To any of her crewmates from the Imperial Star Destroyer Paramount, she would be Petty Officer and Medic Mannin. Though anyone who knew her then would tell you she was dead, an unfortunate casualty of a mining incident on one of the Imperial-held moons.

She's fairly sure that the 'accident' wasn't so accidental, as she'd been looking for a way out, away from the Empire and they would rather see someone with her skills dead than working for the other side.

Most people know her simply as Doc, sometimes Medic Jir, with the steadiest hands in any sector, and a connection with the bacta underground. She can't always get the good stuff, but she knows how to make the most of what she can get.

She's always specialized in the removal of slave compliance chips, mostly because she was one of the people implanting them in the first place, though most of her patients now don't know that. But she'll always help with whatever ails you, setting up shop in back rooms and empty warehouses across Tatooine at first, but once she saved up enough for a ship of her own, a small transport vessel, she could be found all across former Imperial-held worlds, touching down, opening her clinic for a few days or a couple weeks and moving on again.

Jir is an original character from the greater Star Wars universe, she can be anywhere from New Hope timeline right on through to the sequels.
